Everyone thinks that going to the sauna is a very healthy thing to do. But this isn’t entirely true.
Going to the sauna can cause problems. The air is very dry, that’s stress for the lungs. The temperature can be very high, that’s stress for the overall body.
There is no movement - the lymphatic system isn’t being stimulated. Thus the detox only occurs through sweating.
Sauna is essentially prett stressful. It can help detox through sweat, but thats it. The toxins can even be reabsorbed, if you don’t shower inbetween sets frequently.
Hot baths are definitely superior to sauna in many ways.
The pressure on the body of the water surrounding you in the bathhtub stimulates the lymphatic systems - which is clogged in most people. On top of that, the temperature is high enough to simulate a fever and cause a gentler detox through sweating.
Adding raw milk to the hot bath aids the detox through the skin additionally and can pull out toxins. You can stay in it longer and it is not stressfull at all - it is actually very relaxing.
Here are the insctructions for a hot bath:
40-41 degree celsius
30-45 mins if you are lean, 60-90 mins if you have more bodyfat
Ingredients: Raw milk, Sea Salt/Epsom Salt, ACV
I recommend doing them 2-3 times a week, if you can find the time. The raw milk in it is also very good for your skin.
When you are in the hot baths toxins will be dumped into blood and lymph. You have to eat raw fats during the bath to bind those toxins. Otherwise they will stay in the body and can cause problems. This can lead to detox symptoms. Eating raw fats allows a gentle detox.
Most of the detox will happen through the skin - raw fats will aid with that process. The skin is the bodies favorite detox organ. That is also why your skin might itch afterwards. This can occur in general as a detox symptom and should be embraced. It means that toxins are exciting through the skin (same thing with other skin symptoms such as acne).
As you can see hot baths are a bit more complex than going to the sauna. They are more effective for detox and great if you want to keep stress to a minimum.
The ingredients in the hot bath not only help with the detox, but they also serve the purpose to neutralize toxins in the tap water. If you have very toxic tap water (living in the US for example), you can also add raw butter or raw cream additionally to bind more of the toxins.
Try for yourself. They are a great addition to your overall diet and lifestyle.
